El-Shaddai Kindergarten Preparatory Home Based program is designed to have that home away from home environment. As preschool educators, we enjoy working with young minds. Not only are we shaping young minds academically, we are also preparing them for the classroom setting. Students are taught how to get permission to go the bathroom, say grace before eating meals, raise their hand before speaking, how to respect God, family and mankind in general. The students are taught just to name a few to prepare them for Kindergarten, write their name, identify name in print, test taking skills, math, reading, listening skills, different, letter sounds, computer skills, cooking skills, and table manners.
Students can check out books on every Friday from the Sojourner Truth Library. We take our school's motto to heart, which is: We are our brothers' keeper. The students' school supplies, sleeping mat, graduation cap and gown, graduation picture, and at least one field trip per year is included in the child's tuition fee. Curriculum: El-Shaddai's pre-school curriculum consists of an introduction to and reinforcement of cognitive, motor, and social skills, students should master by the end of Kindergarten. The curriculum includes activities engaging students on the alphabet, basic math/number concepts, letter sounds, and "beginners" reading from the Hooked on Phonics Program, as well as activities on test taking, handwriting, listening skills, student/parent information (examples) names, phone number, address, birthday, shape/color identification, and physical skills. Some skills will be reinforced via computer applications and checking out books from El-Shaddai's Library. Furthermore, social skills will be intergrated with Christian Education as students learn the importance of self-estem, respecting others and their property, loving God and family obeying authority, and practicing positive communication.
The staff of El-Shaddai Kindergarten Prep will do whatever is needed to assist the parent and child. By educating our students through promoting education, equality, opportunity, endurance, charity, hope, peace, endurance, and unity - is our way of keeping the dream alive and helping your child acheive excellence.
Summer Enrichment: P.A.I.T PROGRAM "PARENTS ARE IMPORTANT TOO" The Summer Enrichment Program enhances the student's knowledge. The students will be assessed on various skills to see what subject may need to be worked on. This concept will help the parent and child to work on skills that they did not master. The students are taught test taking skills, writing, reading and math skills. The program also sponsors a Family Night Out or Parents Night Out every fourth Friday Night from 6 pm until midnight. This program gives the parents and opportunity to spend time together, the Family Night Out allows parents time with one or more of their children. El-Shaddai assists the parents and children in getting the opportunity to spend a little extra time together. In course of our busy schedule, El-Shaddai helps with the family in maintaining a healthy lifestyle by parents spending quality time together and parents spending quality time with their children. |
